Need rescue training? Enroll in a training course specifically for confined space rescue.
This 40-hour Confined Space Rescue course is designed for first responder rescue teams that may encounter non-entry and confined space entry rescue scenarios. The course covers both horizontal and vertical Permit-Required Confined Spaces, along with elevated rescue scenarios and equipment training. The course utilizes a stair-stepped educational process that involves both classroom and manipulative skills learning for rescue teams.
The Confined Space Rescue operations training program discusses the use of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) for all scenario-based exercises. It focuses on the selected objectives of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1670 Rescue Standard.
In addition, the Confined Space Rescue course meets the training objectives established by the performance and capabilities evaluations for rescue teams described in Appendix F of the Confined Space Entry Standard set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) under 29 CFR 1910.146.
Some skills taught in the course include:
Upon completing the Confined Space Rescue operations course, the attendee will receive a course completion card valid for one year as competency-based annual refresher training is required. This card certifies the attendee’s knowledge of confined space rescue services and operations, from non-entry elevated confined space rescue and equipment training to horizontal and vertical Permit-Required Confined Spaces.
This 2-hour course teaches participants how to properly follow your location’s Emergency Action Plan and/or Fire Prevention Plan. Therefore, this course will always be customized based upon your location’s Emergency Action Plan and/or Fire Prevention Plan.
This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements established under various standards.
Upon course completion, the attendee will receive a course completion card. The employer will determine when retraining is necessary per OSHA.
This 2-hour course teaches participants how to use a Fire Extinguisher during an emergency properly. Although proper usage of the equipment may seem simple to most, properly selecting and using a Fire Extinguisher requires an individual to recognize and understand the different classes and stages of fires as well as a Fire Extinguisher’s acceptable applications and limitations.
This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements established under various standards when paired with site-specific instruction.
Upon course completion, the attendee will receive a course completion card that is valid for 1 year.
This 2-hour course teaches participants how to perform Fire Watch Duties. The Fire Watch monitors an area for hazards and impending fires that could result while personnel are performing Hot Work and other activities. A Fire Watch would be responsible for extinguishing a fire in its incipient stage.
This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements established under various standards when paired with site-specific instruction.
Upon course completion, the attendee will receive a course completion card that is valid for 1 year.
This 1-2 hour course (depending upon facility emergency response requirements) is for participants who are likely to witness or discover a hazardous substance release and must initiate an emergency response rescue sequence by notifying the proper authorities of the release. These personnel would take no further action beyond notifying the appropriate authorities of the release.
This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements established under the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Standards (29 CFR 1910.120 or 29 CFR 1926.65) when paired with site-specific instruction.
Upon course completion, the attendee will receive a course completion card that is valid for 1 year as competency-based annual refresher training is required.
This 8-hour course is for participants who respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances as part of the site’s initial emergency response in order to mitigate the effects of the release. These rescue personnel would respond defensively without actually trying to stop the hazardous substance release. Their primary focus is to contain the release from a safe distance to prevent personal exposures that could result from it spreading.
This 24-hour course is for participants who respond offensively during an emergency response operation as these individuals could be tasked with approaching the point of release to stop it. If planning to be an Incident Commander or Hazardous Materials Specialist due to pre-existing competencies in certain applicable disciplines, this course is recommended for you.
