This 4- to 8-hour course teaches participants how to safely operate an Overhead Crane. This course consists of a 2 hour lecture followed by a quiz and “hands-on” training. During the “hands-on” training, participants will be evaluated on all different types of Overhead Cranes that they plan on operating. Consequently, the course length varies depending upon the number of Overhead Cranes that need to be operated plus the number of attendees and their current ability level. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) requirements established under various standards when paired with manufacturer-specific instruction. Upon course completion, the attendee will receive a course completion card. The employer will determine when retraining is necessary per OSHA and ANSI.
This 4- to 8-hour course teaches participants how to safely operate a Powered Industrial Truck (i.e., a PIT, forklift, Lull, etc.). This course consists of a 2 hour lecture followed by a quiz and “hands-on” training. During the “hands-on” training, participants will be evaluated on all different classes of PITs that they plan on operating. Consequently, the course length varies depending upon the number of PITs that need to be operated plus the number of attendees and their current ability level. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) requirements established under various standards when paired with manufacturer-specific instruction. Upon course completion, the attendee will receive a course completion card that is valid for no longer than 3 years.
This 8-hour course covers basic fundamentals, laws, and principles that a Qualified Rigger and Signalperson must understand and demonstrate. Half the course will be conducted in a classroom setting and the remainder of the course will be a “hands-on” demonstration and evaluation of the participants’ rigging and signaling skills. Per OSHA, a Qualified Rigger must be able to do the rigging work needed for the exact types of loads and lifts for a particular job with the equipment and rigging that will be used for that job. Furthermore, the Signal Person will be considered qualified by OSHA if he or she knows and understands the type of signals used at the worksite, is competent in using these signals, understands the operations and limitations of the equipment (including the crane dynamics involved in swinging, raising, lowering and stopping loads and in boom deflection from hoisting loads), knows and understands the relevant Signal Person qualification requirements specified in OSHA Subpart CC (29 CFR 1926.1419-1926.1422; 1926.1428), and passes an oral or written test and a practical test. Upon course completion, the attendee will receive a course completion card. The employer will determine when retraining is necessary per OSHA.
Note: the Basic Rigging & Signalperson Qualification Training Course can be divided into two separate courses if request by the client (i.e., Signalperson Qualification Training Course).
